cgi.ebay.com A rare antique Silver men’s jewelled swiss “Chaux de Fonds” mechanical key wind pocketwatch, number 22784, size 20 (the watch face appears to measure 1 and 7/8″ in diameter), and is considered to be a size 20 by industry standards. “Fully functional, ticks, and keeps time accurately!” The Silvertone open faced casing is non-magnetic, and has no hallmarks indicating Sterling Silver, nor does it have an expected patina that aged Sterling Silver would exude, therefore I believe it is stainless steel (non-magnetic). The total weight of this piece is 140 grams. The watchface is White with Black Roman numerals (I cannot tell if it is enamelled, but I presume it to be), and a small circular “seconds counter” window in the lower portion (is as seen in PICs). “The crystal is solid and bezeled, although there are several fleabite chips around the bezeled edge, and several small chips within the bezeled edge.” The backside of the Silvertone case has an engraved floral motif which shows obvious wear due to age. “The floral motif engraving on the backside movement cover, appears to have a central area where an initial can be engraved, and a professional engraver can carefully go over the motif to bring about a newness and freshness to the design!” The suspension ring appears not to be original, or it was once silverplated and the plating has worn off, showing a brass (more likely bronze origination).
